Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mindful Therapy Institute?

Mindful Therapy Institute is an integrative mental health practice that brings together psychotherapy, somatic healing, mindfulness, and consciousness-oriented approaches to support deeper healing and transformation. We work with individuals and couples who are seeking more than symptom management and feel called toward meaningful inner work.

Where are you located?

Mindful Therapy Institute is based in Miami and New York. We offer virtual sessions as well as in-person services depending on the practitioner and modality.

What types of services do you offer?

Our services may include:

  • Individual therapy

  • Couples therapy

  • Hypnosis

  • Shamanic breathwork

  • Ketamine-assisted therapy support and psychedelic-informed work

  • Somatic and fascia-based therapies

  • Meditation and mindfulness practices

  • Intuitive and energy-based healing modalities

Each practitioner brings a unique background and approach, and sessions are tailored to the individual.

What does “integrative” mean?

We believe healing involves the whole person. Thoughts matter. Emotional history matters. The nervous system matters. The body matters. Relationships matter. Rather than working with these layers in isolation, we bring them together to support deeper and more lasting transformation.

Is this traditional talk therapy?

Sometimes — but often it goes beyond that. While conversation is an important part of the work, sessions may also include mindfulness, somatic awareness, breathwork, visualization, subconscious exploration, nervous system work, or experiential practices depending on the client and clinician.

How do I know if this approach is right for me?

This work is often a good fit for people who:

  • Feel stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns

  • Have done therapy before but still feel disconnected from themselves

  • Want deeper self-understanding and emotional growth

  • Are navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions

  • Feel drawn toward a more holistic or mind-body approach to healing

Many of our clients arrive at a threshold in life, identity, relationship, or purpose and know they can no longer live disconnected from themselves.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is a space to slow down, share what is bringing you in, and begin exploring your goals, patterns, and experiences. It is also an opportunity to see whether the relationship and approach feel aligned for you. Therapy is deeply personal, and finding the right fit matters.

Do I need to have experience with psychedelics or altered states to work with you?

Not at all. Many clients come simply seeking emotional healing, clarity, connection, or personal growth. While some practitioners may incorporate psychedelic-informed perspectives or ketamine-assisted work, no prior experience is necessary.

What is psychedelic integration?

Psychedelic integration is the process of making sense of experiences that occurred during expanded states of consciousness. Integration helps clients process insights, emotions, memories, or spiritual experiences and bring them into daily life in a grounded and meaningful way.

Do you work with couples?

Yes. Couples therapy at Mindful Therapy Institute is not only about solving conflict — it is about understanding the deeper emotional patterns that exist between two people. We help couples move beyond blame and defensiveness toward greater honesty, connection, intimacy, and emotional understanding.

Are sessions virtual or in person?

We offer both virtual and select in-person sessions depending on the practitioner and service.

How long are sessions?

Most psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes. Some experiential or somatic modalities may be longer depending on the type of work being offered.

What makes Mindful Therapy Institute different?

We believe healing is not one-dimensional. Many people have insight into their patterns but still feel stuck. Our approach combines psychotherapy with somatic, subconscious, relational, and experiential work to help clients move beyond intellectual understanding into deeper emotional and embodied transformation.
